Although it is true that mermaids can eat regular sim food, their hunger meter doesn’t fill as quickly as mermaid food- that is, raw fish and kelp. Mermaids also differ from regular sims in their eating habits. If the hydration meter reaches zero, a mermaid will run to the nearest water source and jump in – thankfully, just like hygiene, they don’t die from this being low. Instead of having a “hygiene” meter, mermaid sims will have a “hydration” meter. Here is a picture of customization below:Īnother difference between mermaids and sims is the needs between the two are different. When a mermaid is on land, all these colors will simply change into scales on a sim’s legs. You get three color bases to choose from: the fin (tip of the tail), the body, and a color that will blend everything together. Mermaids are fully customizable – although it is given you can create whatever hair or body you like, you can also customize their tails. When in the water, though, mermaids have a whole host of abilities! They can breathe under water, make mermaid friends, send the Kraken out on others, meet sharks, and well, do whatever they want! Island Living pales in comparison to the dearth of content included in Island Paradise. The only difference is that their legs have colorful scales on them (but hey, still legs! – at least they are unlike the Little Mermaid who couldn’t get legs until the end of the movie). pris-sims: TS3 mermaids are by far better than TS4 mermaids. This is mermaid abilities in The Sims 3 Island Paradise.

Mermaids are just like regular sims in their abilities… on land. Today Im going to be showcasing the life state of this tropical expansion pack. You can finally have your own mermaid, fully playable, and fully… exciting!

There ARE flying fish, sure, but we’re asking for mermaids, not The Witcher 3 sirens, LOL.“Ohhhh yes, finally!” Is what so many are saying. You can also give your witch sim magic kelp to turn them into a mermaid, like I did for my Madzie sim in my Shadowhunters gameplay (I can’t remember if I had to use Hybrid to let her keep her witch occult state).Īnd with the Showtime EP, you also give them the Genie lifestate, since they have a few cool abilities, too.Įven though Fairies have lots of powers, too, IMO it’s not a good idea to mix them, since the sims end up with faery wings, flying all over the place. With Hybrid and the Supernatural EP, I can give my mersims the witch lifestate, to unlock all the powers witches have. ( The funniest intro ever, omg I was cracking up! XD)
SIMS 3 ISLAND PARADISE MERMAID MOD
So what I do to make my mermaids more interesting is to use Nraas’ Hybrid mod with Master Controller, which allows you to add whatever extra lifestates to your sims, outside of CAS. It’s a real shame that they’re not balanced. Either EA gave us dive lots but no powers, or powers but no dive lots. But IMO, EA didn’t do the mermaid lifestate justice in EITHER game, not in TS4 OR TS3. (It’s a shame that IL’s biggest selling point is the fact that sims can finally swim at the beach–and ONLY in IL’s world). People pretty much agree that Island Living pales in comparison to the dearth of content included in Island Paradise. Even the underwater lots seemed more optimized for scuba diving than as an actual place for mersims to actually LIVE, IMO. Only thing missing is the powers from TS4, and I also wish they could float and sleep on top of the water too.Īgreed! I was baffled why EA didn’t give mermaids any magic in TS3–they have the conch shell and affinity with sea creatures, sure, but I expected them to do waaaay more. TS3 mermaids are by far better than TS4 mermaids, simply for the fact that they have underwater lots to explore.
